Grandparents in the House

Lila spent some quality time with Angela's parents today. Grandma cuddled and talked to her a lot...Grandpa made some funny faces but kept his distance as he's been sick. (Don't worry, he's not contagious anymore). Lila enjoyed the visit and looks forward to more cuddles this week. Grandma and Grandpa are here until Friday.

Giant Pink Cake!

A special shout out to Uncle Gavin and Aunt Sophia who sent Lila the biggest, pinkest cake she's ever seen...the "cake" was actually cool elephant towels and other bath gear...pretty + cool. Just like Lila. ;)

On the edge of her seat during the Oscars

Lila approved of all the red dresses she saw + seemed entertained by Jon Stewart. However, the whole award show thing can be a little nerve wracking...Lila says finger sucking helps with tension.

Rub a dub dub

Our Aquarian baby loved her first bath. She wasn't sure about it for a few seconds but settled in for a good, relaxing soak.

It's never too early...

Dad spent some quality time with Lila and the flash cards. She seems partial to lions.

The kids sleep in on Saturday morning...

Mum and dad got kicked out of bed early to make room for Karl and Lila today. They both like to get up early + go back to bed once we are awake.

Lila takes a break

Lila has spent most of today just chilling. She's putting on weight and being a very good girl - her mother is trying to convince her that well fed girls have more fun. She's starting to believe.

The first week

Lila is happy to report that life in San Francisco is pretty mellow. She likes her room, loves her dog and her parents sure seem to like her. She wants to say thanks to all of you that check her blog and have sent good wishes her way. She hopes to meet you all sooner rather than later...xoxo Lila

No cake for Dad's bday...

Poor Brendan didn't get a cake this year but...he got a little Lila cupcake a few days ago so that's even better. Happy Birthday Brendan!!! xo Angela, Lila + Karl

Daddy's little Bonds girl

Auntie Jane sent this little striped Bonds number from Australia...Blue stripes for little miss blue eyes...Thanks Jane!

Waking up is boring...

Lila would rather dream than eat. This keeps us really busy trying to keep her awake...no doubt this will change. In the meantime, let us know if you have any inventive ways to keep Lila focused on her food.

Good older brother

Just a quick note about our other little kid. Zippy has been extremely good with all the newness. In fact, he seems to have grown up, and has really taken to his new, older brother role.

Home

Nice to be home. Dad's going to pick up the Zip tonight. Boy, that little fella is in for a rude shock.

Thanks for all your support.

Lots of love Lila

Top Ten Reasons Lila is Half-Australian

10. She has "no worries"
9. She is laconic like everyone else from Australia
8. She's not interested in the race to the white house
7. She sleeps in a pouch
6. Whenever an american comes into the room and talks, she rolls her eyes
5. She prefers nappy over diaper
4. She loves to sunbathe
3. She drives her crib on the wrong side of the hallway
2. She's always taking the piss out of the other babies in the nursery

And the number one reason Lila is half Australian...

Her father was heard saying to the other dads,"That's not a poo. This is a poo."*

*For Americans who don't understand the number one reason...the line pays homage to Crocodile Dundee's famous saying, "That's not a knife. This is a knife."

Just for the record---it was Mum (Lila's) who came up with the number one reason.

Little Sleeping Beauty

Happy Valentine's day from Lila...she's spent most of the day sleeping and making her parents very proud...she passed her hearing test with flying colors and impressed the nurses with her ability to sleep during her blood test in a very loud nursery. Tomorrow we go home....

The Jones family make a move

The Jones family have moved to our new room. Our direct number is 415 600 9071. The girls were wonderful, they had a completely natural (wow) birth. I am one proud pop. And yes sports fans, I was right at the business end (extremely exciting.)

20 inches long.

Water broke

Mum and baby doing well. I hope this isn't too much detail (it is natural.) On a different note, Obama is kicking serious ass tonight!!

Hospital Tour Done

Not long to go now. 300 babies are born in this hospital every month...there are 52 private rooms + some with jacuzzi tubs. If we have a normal birth we'll be spending two nights here - the last night we are served a candlelight dinner...

Poppa Finishes the Nursery..

While Angela was enjoying the girl's lunch Brendan was building the changing table and bassinet - what a good dad! Somehow the smallest member of our family is taking the most room in our tiny apartment - a whole room plus part of our bedroom...

Also featured a picture of the gigantic bump - 38 weeks tomorrow - and a very tired Brendan resting after his hard work...

Welcome Baby Jones Girl's Brunch

Lindsay organized a fun brunch at Zuni to celebrate the imminent arrival of baby Jones...no shower games or baby stuff (aside from the actual baby Eden, who was a guest) just great food and conversation.
